The Delaware County Symphony in collaboration with the Aston Public Library invite all families to a free Instrument Petting Zoo for children. Nine classically trained musicians will explain and demonstrate to the children how their specific instruments: Flute, Violin, Viola, Bassoon, Cello, Oboe, French Horn, Bass, and Clarinet, individually sound and are uniquely used in classical music to make a full symphonic sound. The program will conclude with an ensemble performance of the ever popular Simple Gifts and the rousing The Saints Go March In so the children may hear the sounds of the instruments performing together. Children and parents are then encouraged to then mingle with the musicians to ask questions and see the instruments up close. Saturday, September 21 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. The program is free and open to the public. Aston Public Library 3270 Concord Road,Aston, PA 19014-1939 https://astonlibrary.org/ 610-494-5877 .
